Proof of Concept Research

At ATRC we possess the technology and the scientific knowledge to investigate basic ideas and validate the feasibility of bringing these ideas to an implementation or demonstrate that these ideas are feasible and if they violate principles of physics and science.

We will demonstrate in principle with the aim of verifying that some concept or theory has practical potential and the possibility and requirements to move from concept to implementation. The requirement for implementation involves;

  1. Available technology to support the development
  2. Cost of the development and production at the end stage
  3. Who is the end user?
  4. Economical analysis of the final product on a limited or mass scale; is it affordable and/or attractive to the end user?

Development & Prototype Production

Upon the completion of the proof of concept and feasibility study and the results are proved to be plausible, then we move to the prototype development and production in three stages;

I.  Proof-of-Concept Prototype: First phase of a product prototype that has little or no resemblance to the final product, but is used to validate the idea and prove the feasibility and functionality of the product. A Proof-of-Concept Prototype can be used for fundraising and to secure an intectual property that can be registered at the Patent & Trademark Department. The proof-of-concept (POC) prototype is usually gets constructed by using off-the-shelf items with manual or rudimentary fabrication and alteration.

II.  Design Prototype: Second phase of a product prototype that has the Form, Fit, and Function of the final product. It is usually produced using quick fabrication methods. A design prototype is used to work out the final design and manufacturing details and to receive feedback from the end users.

III. Production Prototype:  third phase of product prototype that precedes the full-scale manufacturing. This product prototype is fabricated using the final production design and manufacturing methods. The purpose of the Production Prototype is to qualify the manufacturing processes and to receive feedback from the end users. Performing the proper verification and validation with production prototypes will result in high-quality products.
